A Complete Horseman
In 1999 Jim moved to Sweden and started to concentrate his business where most of the top horses come from, northern Europe. This move has allowed him to work with the top breeders and trainers in Europe and to improve his ability to get the best horses for the best prices.
Jim has been importing Sport Horses from Europe since 1983 and has found and sold many top Hunters and Jumpers. He has been shoeing horses for 32 years, and studied his riding for over 35 years. Ten years with Dressage Masters and afterward specializing in Hunters and Showjumping. He has trained top hunters to win at Indoors and jumpers to Grand Prix as well as competing in CSIO´s himself. While he enjoys competing his real focus has been on the training of horse and rider.
For 30 years Jim has been studying the relationship of classical principles to the performance of the horse in Sport. Using principles taught by Robert Hall in dressage and Bertalan De Nemethy he has practiced these classical methods and applies them to the training of the Sport Horse.
Today Jim works with other trainers who practice these classical methods and tries to pass on this method of training. In a world of quick fix or incorrectly applied basics. He teaches that in the end it is better to build a solid foundation and to correctly use the principles passed down by old Masters.
Through clinics and articles Jim is working toward showing that not only do these methods work today for sport. They are better for the horse and his welfare.
